The Recyclers - Sclupture by Walter Brecely

Considering creatures that filter fine particles from their environment to feed, 'The Recyclers" are along these lines. With thousands of fine tentacles constantly filtering the ground its moving over.

These pieces started out by exploring fold forming techniques with copper and then reddening the copper using techniques I have been expanding on over the years. Then it stopped as i didn't know how to bring them beyond that point until I started exploring some metal rope that I had bought from the metal recyclers many years ago, and found that once unraveled, each individual rope was made up of nearly 100 fine strands of tin plated copper wire, and it lent itself to becoming fine filaments.

Even though this piece has a delicate and vulnerable nature it holds itself up with strength from the accumulation of many fine legs.
